getting started

do i need to install anything to be part of a trip?
no. if a friend invites you by link, you can fill in your preferences in any browser. only the trip host needs the app. squadmates can choose to install later if they want.
is tripsquad free?
yes. v1 is fully free with no caps and no ads. paid features (trip pass for unlimited trips at once, scout-built trips, premium templates) are coming in a follow-up version.
what platforms do you support?
iOS only at launch. Android is on the roadmap, see the coming soon page for timeline. the squad-invite recipient flow works on any browser, ios or android.

invites & the squad

how do i invite someone who doesn't have tripsquad?
on the trip space, tap "invite more" → "share link." paste the link in iMessage, whatsapp, anywhere. the recipient taps it and lands on a branded form in their browser. they fill in their vibe, and they're in the trip.
can i invite by @ tag?
yes. if your friend is on tripsquad, type their @ in the squad list and they get pulled in directly. no link needed.
can someone leave the squad?
yes. trip space → squad tab → tap your name → leave trip. the host can also remove squadmates if needed.

voting & the reveal

who decides when voting opens?
the trip host. they tap "open voting" when the squad is in. all squadmates get a notification and have a window to vote.
what happens if there's a tie?
tripsquad breaks ties automatically using a fair algorithm: each squadmate's top vote counts as 3, second as 2, third as 1. if it's still tied, scout suggests a final pick based on the squad's vibe overlap. the host can override.
can the host see who voted for what?
no. votes are anonymous. only totals are shown. nobody gets called out for not picking the host's favorite.

scout

is scout an actual person?
no. scout is an AI travel companion built into tripsquad. think of it like a sidekick: knows the squad, knows the trip, suggests destinations and itineraries, answers questions in chat. it doesn't replace the squad — it just does the work nobody wants to do.
does scout share my conversations?
no. scout messages are not used to train other models, sold to advertisers, or shared with anyone outside afia labs. it's your trip, your data.
can i turn scout off?
yes. settings → ai → toggle off scout. the scout tab disappears, and scout won't respond to @-mentions in trip chats.

privacy & moderation

what happens if someone posts something harmful in a chat?
long-press the message → report. the message goes to our moderation queue and is reviewed within 24 hours. if it violates our rules, it's hidden. repeat offenders are blocked from the platform.
can i block a squadmate?
yes. tap their @ in the squad list → block. they can't see your activity, message you, or be added to trips you're in.
how do i delete my account?
settings → account → delete account. confirms via dialog, then removes your profile, trips you host, your messages, and all derivatives within 30 days. squadmates of trips you joined keep their copies of trip content per our terms.

still stuck?

how do i get help?
email [email protected]. it's a small team — usually a same-day response from a real person, often the founder.
i found a bug.
great. send it to [email protected] with what you were doing, what device, and a screenshot if you can. we triage daily.
